Help me out here folks… this is part two and I am still at a loss.
Let me answer your questions in order:
Yes my son has been diagnosed with a condition called ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder)…and no there is no medication available for this condition. They use ADD meds with him…although I keep telling them that it makes the problems worse.
My significant other is not his father.
He is in a special ed class for ED (Emotionally Disturbed) children…but only spends 15% of his school day there. The stupid schools here (Louisiana) think that it’s just fine to mainstream a child that does not do well in crowds.
The violence has been ongoing since he was around 4 years old. By 5 he had beat me so badly that I urinated blood for almost a week.
As to the serious reprecussions legally…we go back to court in two days for the stabbing offense…but the judge is loathe to throw the book at a child with a mental illness of this nature. She said…and I quote…”You wouldn’t punish an epileptic for having a seizure” and all she does is make us come to court once every three months to “Check in”.
